In fact the team working on productivity can study the way to increase production mantaining the quality, improve quality with the same amount of production, or increase production and quality.   To improve efficiency, engineers and techniciens must study the manufacturing process to identify all the causes that reduce production or quality. A fishbone can be used to name and visualize the most important causes.   After the preliminary study, variables are screened using the criticity that they have towards our objective. A Pareto diagram can be useful to put priorities on each variable.   To better improve our understanding of the process, we can use tests and obtain models to optimize parameters. The best mathematico-statistical technique to analyze test results is ANOVA (=ANalysis Of VAriance).
